GIVING BACK

candles lighting up lives project

I realize that being able to start a candle business, especially at the age of 10, was a huge privilege. Because of this, I have chosen to donate 25% of our profits to local non-profit businesses such as animal shelters, homeless shelters, and other organizations. It is my hope to support MLC's mission of "Lighting up Lives One Candle at a Time."

WNC Down Syndrome Alliance

Our most recent non-profit partner is the WNC Down Syndrome Alliance. I am so lucky to have a wonderful sister with Down Syndrome and this partnership is in honor of her and the wonderful DS community around WNC and around the world.

Brother wolf Animal Rescue

My first donation was made to Brother Wolf Animal Rescue. I was a volunteer at Brother Wolf when I was 4 years old and have always loved supporting the animals in need. I was honored and excited to make our first Mountain Light Candles donation to Brother Wolf. We are sad to share that Brother Wolf recently had to close after being destroyed in Hurricane Helene and we hope they open again soon.

Western Carolina Rescue Minestry

We have been honored to support WNRM since 2021. My dad and I first volunteered with this  organization when I was 5 years old and we have continued volunteering. Our donations go towards providing meals, housing and assistance for the homeless population in Asheville.

It has been an honor to support Riverlink since 2021. Riverlink is responsible for taking care of the rivers in Asheville and Western North Carolina. I am so passionate about the environment and hoping that this connection can help to support their mission. We were honored to make our most recent donation in August 2025 just after their offices were reopened after rebuilding from Hurricane Helene. Riverlink was instrumental in providing support and assistance to WNC from the hurricane in September of 2025.

Beloved Asheville

It was an honor to meet Debbie Alford at BeLoved Asheville. BeLoved is working on an exciting housing project in Asheville where they will be building a new community of affordable furnished houses. We are excited that MLC will be donating candles to help furnish these new homes.
